Tenuta Tre Gemme winery history of the begins from far away: the family tombstones and the old documents found indicate that the vineyards have been owned by the Perrucci family since the first decade of the 1800s.

Until 50 years ago, in Abruzzo, the land was traditionally divided into pieces and each piece corresponded to a family of sharecroppers who cultivated it in exchange for half the harvest. This was a form of sharing which implied a relationship of familiarity difficult to explain today.

The 60s and 70s brought a big change, thanks to the innovation activity of the father of the current owners. He founded and presided over the first Cantina Sociale, then transformed the properties into a company and built the family winery, increasing the vineyards in variety and size.

Today the two sisters Carla and Anna Perrucci select only the best of the production to create a wine with extraordinary organoleptic qualities. Inside the bottle, dressed with great care, there is a wine built with love and patience, thanks also to the help of a winemaker with a lot of experience.

Tenuta Tre Gemme is located in the province of Pescara, in the municipalities of Catignano and Civitaquana. The microclimate is characterized by a significant difference in temperatures between night and day, which gives the grapes unique qualities and perfect characteristics for obtaining wines with great character. This is the strong point that defines tradition since always. 700,000 m2 of vineyards: one of the largest private companies in Abruzzo between 350 and 450 meters above sea level.

Steel vinifiers are used for the winemaking process. Based on the ripening characteristics of the grape and the climatic trend, the grapes are harvested at the moment of maximum balance of the ripening curve and vinified in white. Therefore the skins are immediately separated by pressing and the clean steel must is fermented with temperature control. refinement always takes place in steel.

For the winemaking process, steel fermenters and concrete tanks are used. The maceration with the skins lasts 15 days depending on the case with a temperature control that is kept below 29 degrees. Sulfur dioxide is used at the minimum dosages. The first 2 days two delestage are carried out and in some games the grape seeds are eliminated to reduce the bitter and herbaceous footprint. In the following days pumping over is carried out with the frequency of one every 3/4 hours for about 10 minutes. After racking, a soft pressing is max 1.2 atm. The flower wine thus obtained is stored in steel or cement for subsequent processing. Malolactic fermentation is controlled but not induced.
